From August 30-September 1, 2023, the Kiiti Kamba Foundation (KKF) collaborated with Baraka Opera Kenya (BOK) in engaging six primary schools, in Makueni County, to use music as an entry point for the Kenyan Competence Based Curriculum (CBC).
The schools included: Unoa Primary School Wote, Mwaani Primary School, Kyamusoi Primary School, AIC Malivani Primary School, Makutano Primary School (Kathozweni), and Muambani Primary School.
The team from Nairobi, Nakuru, and London, built their music performances around a thematic area — the environment. The process of engagement was very participatory so the children and teachers loved it and joined in where they were able.
